Playa del Carmen -- day 1
Well, we are here after a delayed flight and to our hotel which was overbooked and now we wait in balmy lobby for the management to find other accomodations. The flights were good but a bit bumpy from the storms in the area over the Southeast. we arrived huungry as no meals were served on eithter flight. After apologies the hotel manager told us to go get lunch on him (and a free breakfast every day) while he looks for another room arrangement. I had filet migon which was like tuff goat meat. Nick had fettucini which he couldn't finish. The appetizer of nachos however was great. We are learning the art of patience as we wait, wait, and wait... okay here`s Nick. We are on our way to the hotel now(4:55-play del carmen, 6:55-USA). That´s all for now. Thus ends day one(uno).

Hi Guys,
Glad to hear that you finally made it there safely. It sounds like the management folks are going overboard to make your stay wonderful. It's nice to hear that people still "do good" for others.
I had breakfast w/the Easter Bunny this morning. The food was great and Shea was adorable. Initially he didn't think too highly of Ole' Mr. Bunny, but soon realized that he gave out eggs of candy. It didn't take him long to REQUEST a second AND THIRD trip to see Mr. Bunny. He never smiled or even looked at him, but gladly accepted the eggs he offered. (By the third time Katie filled one of his eggs with some table candy, so Shea didn't get more than his share and wipe out the Easter Bunny's supply for other kids.)
Betty called twice today and said she has contacted some other people about your book. She may need a few more copies. Your secretary will handle those details while you're away. Betty certainly is a big John supporter and a great friend to say the least.
I'll call Suz tonight, when I think she's on her way home from work, to tell her about this blog page. Hopefully she'll have no trouble leaving you a note. (I needed to re-sign up because I forgot the password I used the last time.)
Can't wait to hear from you tonight about what you did today. I'm sure you found something exciting to do.
Nick: Be sure to keep PaPa "in-line". I know it's a tough job, but hopefully with you he'll be super careful and not take too many risks... like walking down a dark alley in the middle of the night or swimming with unknown creatures. If you ever feel unsafe, even for a second TELL HIM. If he doesn't listen "throw a major temper tantrum" until he does. just kidding. I know he'll be on his toes for this trip.
Talk to you guys later,
Love, Jo
