See I told you I'm reading the blogs. Glad to see Suz is responding too. Maybe the others are still trying to figure out how to do it. It took me awhile, until I realized I needed to log on as a user. Since then it's a piece of cake, even for me.
Glad you get out of the city tomorrow. I know how much cities are not your thing, especially polluted ones.
I'll try calling your cell at 6 AM and again at 9 AM. Try turning it ON with a sound ringer instead of vibrate. We might just get lucky and hear each other's voice.
Love, Jo
Hi John, Denis and I are following you on your travelogue. I hope OAT tours is as good as I said they were and that your travelling companions are all congenial. Wow...hope you are getting totally immersed in the different world you're in now. Enjoy! Life's too short. love, bert
Hi Dad,
Great to hear from you last night. It meant a lot to us for you to call. Alyssa, Julia, Karin and I had wonderful gathering with family and friends. We are fully decorated with Christmas tree up so it seemed like a holiday gathering for us. It sounds like you are off to a good start with your trip. I hope you are getting your rest and finding some good, food, friends and drink.
On a different note I watched the Ironman triathlon today. It was done in its typical moving fashion with several heartfelt stories. John Blaise, who had CF, was the man who was running it for the last time when we watched it. Last year hear was at the finish but in a wheelchair. He past away this March. There was a girl who ran it in his honor and did a pencil role across the finish and then shared some hugs and tears with his parents. Two of the favorites dropped out in the bike portion of the race. One of which wrecked and got back on her bike but then had to quit. Since you can't seek medical assistance while participaing she had to wait to find out that she had broken clavicle. The other man who dropped out was trying to continue while puking on his bike. I felt for both of them b/c I know how hard it must be to come that far and than have to quit. Two rookies won it. The lady had the second best marathon time ever.
Just an aside. And no I don't think I will ever be able to run a triathlon. Have a great day.
Love,
Stuart, Karin, Alyssa and Julia (They are sleeping peacefully)
